About Dr. Sarah Mottram

Movement Science Specialist

For over 30 years, I've worked with people who were told there was nothing more that could be done. People who had been handed a diagnosis, a label, or a shrug and sent home to manage. I became their advocate, and over time, their guide back to the life they thought they'd lost.

My approach is built on a simple but powerful insight: pain is a symptom, not the problem. Ongoing joint and muscle pain changes the way your nervous system works and the way your body moves. Until you address that, the actual underlying cause, which is unique to every person, you'll keep getting temporary relief at best.

This process is backed by science, including over 30 of my own peer-reviewed papers and a PhD on the Health of Movement. It has been taught to tens of thousands of health and fitness professionals worldwide and applied at the highest levels of elite sport.

In 2020, I founded The Healthy Movement Programme to make this approach available to individuals, not just clinicians. It's gentle, it's personalised, and it works from wherever you are.
